  • Multiplier's EOR plans cost $459 (Core) and $519 (Growth) per employee per month billed annually, or $499 and $559 billed monthly (usemultiplier.com/pricing, October 23, 2026).
  • Contractors cost $40 and Contractor of Record $400 per contractor per month billed annually; Global Payroll starts from $20 per person.
  • An EOR deposit, held as security for the notice period, is due before the employment agreement is signed; Multiplier's help center does not publish the amount and refunds it after final settlement.
  • Using Multiplier's own Mexico estimate of 1.25x to 1.35x salary, a $1,500 gross salary on Core costs $2,334 to $2,484 a month, or $28,008 to $29,808 in year one.
  • If annual billing is a 12-month commitment, it equals 11.04 months of monthly billing, so monthly billing costs less for any hire who leaves within 11 months.

Key Takeaways

Multiplier's employer of record (EOR) plans start at $459 per employee per month billed annually or $499 billed monthly (Core), and $519 or $559 (Growth), with independent contractors at $40 and Contractor of Record at $400 per contractor per month, as listed on its pricing page on October 23, 2026. On EOR, that fee is charged on top of the gross salary and the local employer costs, and Multiplier's help center says a deposit, held as security for the employee's notice period, must be paid before the employment agreement is signed.

This guide lists every published plan and fee, adds Multiplier's own employer-cost estimates for four Latin American countries, and works out the cash you need before your hire's first payday and a first-year total through six routes. Virtustant is a remote staffing agency and one of the routes compared, so we stick to published facts and show every calculation. Pricing Deel too? See our Deel pricing guide.

What Multiplier publishes about its pricing

Everything Multiplier's pricing page, FAQ and help center say about cost, read October 23, 2026:

Item What Multiplier says Source
EOR, Core $459 "per person/mo, billed annually"; the pricing FAQ adds "$499 per employee per month on monthly contracts." Pricing page
EOR, Growth $519 billed annually, $559 on monthly contracts. Adds integrations, custom reports and open APIs. Pricing page
EOR, Enterprise "Custom price." Pricing page
Contractor of Record $400 "per contractor/mo, billed annually." The FAQ page says it "starts at $399 per contractor per month." Pricing page, FAQ
Contractors $40 per contractor per month, billed annually. Pricing page
Global Payroll "Starts from" $20 per person per month, billed annually, plus setup, payment and statutory fees "as applicable." Pricing page
Annual vs monthly "Yearly (save 8%)." Monthly prices are published only for the EOR plans. Pricing page
Setup and offboarding FAQ: "No setup, onboarding, or offboarding fees on any tier." Pricing cards: "Implementation fee as applicable." FAQ, Pricing page
Deposit A deposit invoice "serves as security for the employee's notice period," "must be paid before the employment agreement can be signed and is due upon receipt." The amount is not published. Help center, invoicing FAQ
Processing fee "$5 processing fee for all invoice payments and global payroll disbursements." Help center, invoicing FAQ
Country pricing About 11% of the countries Multiplier supports "have adjusted pricing." Pricing page
Minimums None. The FAQ page says: "You can start with a single hire and cancel anytime." Pricing page, FAQ
Promotion "Get 3 months free when you start hiring globally. Ends Dec 31." No terms shown. Pricing page

The 8% figure matches the EOR math: $459 is 8.0% less than $499, and $519 is 7.2% less than $559. On either plan, annual billing saves $480 over 12 months.

What the pricing pages leave open

Four items belong on your written quote, because Multiplier's own pages either do not give the number or give two different ones.

  • The deposit amount. The invoicing FAQ says what the deposit is for and when it is due, not how it is sized. Unpaid after 30 days, "the onboarding process and the deposit invoice will be canceled." The refund is a credit note "applied first to any outstanding receivables," with any balance paid "within 15 days of the full and final settlement," which generally takes 30 days from the last working day.
  • Implementation fees. The FAQ page says no setup, onboarding or offboarding fees on any tier; the pricing cards say "Implementation fee as applicable" and list "mandated add-ons." Ask which applies to your country and plan.
  • Country adjustments. About 11% of countries carry adjusted pricing, and the Brazil EOR page says pricing there "typically ranges from $400 to $699 per employee per month." $459 is a starting price.
  • Two invoices a month. A funding invoice "before or within the first week of the payroll month," then a reconciliation invoice "from the third week." Paying both, the $5 processing fee comes to $10 a month, or $120 a year.

What a Multiplier EOR hire costs in Latin America, by Multiplier's own estimates

These are Multiplier's own employer-cost estimates from its country guides, read October 23, 2026, applied to an example gross salary of $1,500 a month (not a Multiplier price) plus the Core fee.

Country Multiplier's employer-cost estimate Monthly total at $1,500 gross, Core billed annually ($459) Monthly total, Core billed monthly ($499)
Mexico "1.25x–1.35x salary for standard roles"; 1.4x–1.6x for executive roles with extra benefits $2,334 to $2,484 $2,374 to $2,524
Argentina "1.37x to 1.42x their base salary on an ongoing basis" $2,514 to $2,589 $2,554 to $2,629
Colombia Employer contributions "add ~30% on top of gross salary" $2,409 $2,449
Brazil "Increase total employment expenses by 25 to 35% above base salary" $2,334 to $2,484 $2,374 to $2,524
Costa Rica Not published on the Costa Rica EOR page we read; the page defers to Multiplier's cost calculator Not computed Not computed

The arithmetic for Mexico at the low end: $1,500 × 1.25 = $1,875 in salary and employer costs, plus $459 = $2,334 a month. At the high end, $1,500 × 1.35 = $2,025, for $2,484.

Two cautions. The Mexico guide also tells employers to "budget an additional 30% to 40% on top of the base salary," and the Colombia page gives "approx. 25–30% of salary" elsewhere, so the figure shifts with the statement you pick. And Mexican profit sharing (PTU), 10% of annual taxable profits per the same guide, is not a percentage of salary. The First-Payday Cash Check: how much cash leaves before your hire is paid

A monthly price tells you the run rate, not how much cash you need before the person does a day of work. The First-Payday Cash Check adds three lines from Multiplier's published billing rules, then tests one billing decision.

  1. The deposit. Due on receipt, before the employment agreement is signed. Multiplier does not publish the amount, so size it from the notice period on its country pages: Argentina "one month up to five years" of service, Colombia "30–60 days," Brazil "starting at 30 days." Example input: one month of gross salary ($1,500) or two ($3,000).
  2. Month one. Funding invoice in the first week, reconciliation from the third. In Mexico at $1,500 gross on Core billed monthly: $2,374 to $2,524.
  3. The return date. Final settlement generally takes 30 days from the last working day, and the refund up to 15 more. Plan on about 45 days after the hire's last day.
Example deposit Month one (Mexico, $1,500 gross, Core monthly) Cash out by the end of month one Multiple of one month's run rate
One month of gross salary ($1,500) $2,374 to $2,524 $3,874 to $4,024 1.59x to 1.63x
Two months of gross salary ($3,000) $2,374 to $2,524 $5,374 to $5,524 2.19x to 2.26x

The 11-month line: annual or monthly billing

Annual billing saves $480 a year per hire. The pricing page does not say whether "billed annually" commits you to 12 months; the FAQ page says you can "cancel anytime." If it is a commitment, Core costs $5,508 for the year whatever happens, and that buys 11.04 months at $499. On Growth: $6,228 ÷ $559 = 11.14 months. So monthly billing costs less for any hire who leaves within 11 months. Ask, in writing, what happens to the annual fee if a hire leaves in month four.

The rule. Before you sign, write down three numbers: the deposit in dollars, the month-one total, and the date the deposit comes back. Expect roughly 1.6 months of run rate in cash before the first payday with a one-month deposit. If you are not sure the hire stays 12 months, choose monthly billing.

One seat, first year, six routes

One full-time assistant seat over 12 months, using the same $1,500 example salary or contractor pay for the provider routes. Recruiting time is not priced for any route.

Route First-year cost How it is calculated Who finds and vets What you are buying
Multiplier EOR, Core billed annually (Mexico) $28,008 to $29,808 Salary × 1.25 to 1.35, plus $459 × 12; deposit held on top You Your hire is a local employee of Multiplier's entity, with statutory benefits
Multiplier EOR, Core billed monthly (Mexico) $28,488 to $30,288 Same, at $499 × 12 You Same, without an annual commitment
Deel EOR (Mexico) $28,743 to $30,489 Salary × 1.1975 to 1.2945 (Deel's estimate), plus $599 × 12 You Same model, different provider
Multiplier Contractor of Record $22,800 $1,500 contractor pay plus $400, × 12 You Multiplier acts as contractor of record
Multiplier Contractors $18,480 $1,500 contractor pay plus $40, × 12 You You hold the contract; Multiplier runs contracts and payments
Virtustant (virtual assistant) $13,440 at the $7/hr starting rate; $19,392 at the H1 2026 median 160 hours × 12 months, all-in hourly rate Virtustant, through a four-stage funnel Dedicated remote professional; Virtustant handles payroll and paperwork on the professional's side
US in-house hire (secretaries and administrative assistants) $69,014.29 $48,310 BLS median ÷ 0.70 for benefits You Your W-2 employee

Deel figures from its pricing page (see our Deel pricing guide). In Virtustant's H1 2026 placement data (441 starts, January to June 2026), the median client-side rate for a virtual assistant was $10.10/hr (n=24), or $1,616 a month at 160 hours (2026 Nearshore Rate Report). US pay from the BLS, May 2025.

Read it plainly. Multiplier's Contractors plan ($18,480) costs less in cash than a Virtustant virtual assistant at the H1 2026 median ($19,392); Contractor of Record ($22,800) costs more. On every Multiplier plan you find and replace the person yourself; EOR adds local employment with statutory benefits. Against Deel, Multiplier's published Core fee is $140 a month lower, but the two use different employer-cost estimates, so compare full country quotes, not plan prices.

When Multiplier is the better choice

Multiplier fits these situations better than a staffing agency does:

  • You already found the person. Paying for recruiting again adds nothing.
  • You want them employed locally. EOR gives the worker local employment and statutory benefits.
  • The salary is high. On a $6,000 gross salary in Mexico, the $459 fee is 5.4% to 5.8% of the monthly bill at Multiplier's standard-role estimate; at $1,500 it is 18.5% to 19.7%.
  • You hire across several countries. One platform for employees, contractors and payroll beats one provider per country.

Multiplier is a weaker fit when you have not found the person, when the role is part time (the fee is per person per month, not per hour), or when tying up a deposit for the life of the hire strains cash. Of 51 client searches opened with Virtustant from October 7 to 14, 2026, 25 were part time and 48 asked for US working hours (breakdown). If you have not found the person yet

An EOR employs a person you already found; it does not find them. Virtustant works the other way round: it recruits, vets and replaces the professional. Virtustant is not an EOR and does not act as the employer.

Virtustant is a remote staffing agency. We recruit a dedicated, bilingual professional from Latin America who works your hours and is directed by you, at one all-in hourly rate. Starting rates: virtual assistants and customer service from $7/hr; SDRs, appointment setters, social media managers, designers and developers from $8/hr; executive assistants and bookkeepers from $8.50/hr. See pricing for every role and the rate report for the H1 2026 medians.

Shortlist in 48 hours. Start in 72 hours. You get a shortlist of 3 to 5 vetted candidates within 48 hours of your first call, and your hire can start in 72 hours. The vetting funnel: 100% apply, 22% clear the recruiter screen, 9% pass cognitive (IQ), skills and English testing, 3% reach a live interview, 1% are hired, which is what we mean by the top 1%.

After the hire, your account manager is the main point of contact and coordinates onboarding, the start date, tools access and a first-week plan, then follows up during the first weeks. You direct the day-to-day work. Virtustant handles payroll, paperwork and everything administrative on the professional's side. Terms are month-to-month with zero placement fees, a lifetime replacement guarantee and one weekly invoice per placement. How Virtustant makes money: if you pay your agent $10/hr, we give them $9 and keep the dollar in the middle. Virtustant is rated 4.9/5 on G2 and 4.5/5 on Trustpilot.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Multiplier EOR cost?

Multiplier's employer of record Core plan costs $459 per employee per month billed annually or $499 billed monthly, and Growth costs $519 or $559, per its pricing page in October 2026. The fee sits on top of gross salary and local employer costs; about 11% of countries have adjusted pricing.

Is Multiplier cheaper if you pay annually?

Annual billing saves $480 a year per hire on both EOR plans. If the annual plan commits you to 12 months of fees, Core costs $5,508 for the year, which equals 11.04 months at the $499 monthly price. So monthly billing costs less for any hire who leaves within 11 months.

Does Multiplier charge a deposit?

Yes. Multiplier's help center says a deposit invoice serves as security for the employee's notice period, is due upon receipt and must be paid before the employment agreement is signed. The amount is not published. Any balance left after open invoices is refunded within 15 days of final settlement, which generally takes 30 days from the last working day.

How much does Multiplier charge for contractors?

The pricing page lists $40 per contractor per month for its Contractors plan and $400 per contractor per month for Contractor of Record, both billed annually. The FAQ page says Contractor of Record starts at $399. At $1,500 a month in contractor pay, the first year costs $18,480 or $22,800.

Does Multiplier charge setup or offboarding fees?

Multiplier's FAQ page says there are no setup, onboarding or offboarding fees on any tier. Its pricing cards also say "Implementation fee as applicable," and the help center lists a $5 processing fee per invoice payment. Ask which apply before you sign.

What does a Multiplier EOR hire cost in Mexico?

Multiplier's Mexico guide puts total employment cost at 1.25x to 1.35x salary for standard roles. At an example gross salary of $1,500 a month plus the $459 Core fee, that is $2,334 to $2,484 a month, or $28,008 to $29,808 for the first year, plus a deposit Multiplier does not size publicly.

How much does Multiplier Global Payroll cost?

Multiplier's Global Payroll starts from $20 per person per month, billed annually, with setup, implementation, payment and statutory fees "as applicable." The pricing FAQ says the price depends on workforce size, countries and payroll requirements.

Does Multiplier find the worker for you?

Not on the plans its pricing page lists: EOR, Contractor of Record and Contractors assume you bring the worker, and you screen, interview and replace them yourself. A remote staffing agency such as Virtustant recruits and vets candidates, sends a shortlist of 3 to 5 within 48 hours of your first call, and handles payroll and paperwork on the professional's side. Virtustant is not an EOR and does not act as the employer.
